Scrapbooking,
Twiddleybitz
I can finally share with you this wee project using the hanging birdcage from Twiddleybitz…

It works so well with Prima flowers, skeleton leaves, paper roses, vintage charms, sequins and some gorgeous feathered birds I found on ebay!

Labour weeked has come and gone and we had 2 gorgeous days of sunshine to enjoy it before the weather packed in yesterday. On Friday we did the house sign up and Saturday morning we went and had a look through it now the tenants belongings were all out. What a mess they left, some people just have some very different standards of cleanliness than me, and I’m not exactly Martha Stewart but Yeuch… they also smashed the glass hob which I’m hoping the landlord pulls finger on and gets replaced before we move in on Saturday, I’m suspecting he’s not the type to do much though – more a “you get it sorted and I’ll just pay for it” type, which is fine once we’re actually in there but I want it ready to move into! time will tell – the movers have been booked so we’re coming, ready or not!
After the house inspection we headed off to get some new sandals for Joshie. He’s the kind of kid that will only wear one pair of shoes per season, if he’s got lots to choose from he’ll STILL only wear one pair. So for this summer he chose these: Ben 10 ones that light up on the sides when he walks. So cute. He put them on straight away. Oh and check out the little boy legs, notice all the bruises? don’t call CYFS on us, they’re self-inflicted by a very clumsy 4 year old that never looks where he’s going!

Sunday we didn’t do much but yesterday, being a dismal looking holiday, we headed to the Armageddon expo on at the showgrounds. I’ve never been before and never had any interest in going but it was raining so…..
Anyway I actually really enjoyed it, the expo itself was whatever but Joshie had such a good time. The nice lady at the door gave us 2 free passes to get in with (we must’ve looked poor… LOL) so we were off to a good start. We let Joshie choose 2 rides to go on before we went in just in case it rained (which it did) and our wee daredevil chose the mini pirate ship (which he laughed loudly throughout):

and this one, whatever it’s called which he went on by himself. It actually goes quite high and takes them up a bit and then drops them a bit a few times, each time it dropped he screamed like a little girl but loved it. So cute.

There were a lot of strange people at the convention, a lot dressed up just because they could and you just KNOW they wear their outfits regularly. There were definitely some blinking at the sunlight and you knew they hardly ever made it out from behind their computers too… LOL. Amazing costumes though, and had to take a piccie of these 3 who really went for it (and were involved in the show itself) but so many who dressed up simply went to see and be seen.

Must have been a bit of a brain overload for a certain little someone who was sitting at his wee table asking for an iceblock about 4 seconds before this piccie…

And now some Lucas update piccies, God he’s gorgeous (if I say so myself!). He’s settling much better since we started putting infacol into his bottles and has found his voice. We’re treated to lots of grunts and squeals and chuckles while he’s awake, and he’s become very busy. He’s such a good little guy though and for a 5 week old baby (yep 5 weeks have gone by already!!) he’s so much easier than I was expecting.

Family Updates
Hooray! so those that have been following me on Facebook will know that we found a great rental that will let us have a dog! It’s not the kind of house I expected to find (modern, big and in a great area) so am rapt that we can move out of our wee house, renovate and sell it finally. It’s been a work in progress for almost 5 years now and we’ve achieved bugger all with a kiddo (and now two!) in the house. Be nice not to look at half-stripped, and raw gib walls… oh and have REAL FLOORS!! I don’t ask for much really, just walls, a roof, and floors… how low-maintenance am I? LOL.
So next Friday we move! It won’t be an easy move with 2 kiddos in tow and will take a million times longer than normal but who cares? not me… I just can’t believe how hard it is to get a rental these days, it’s like a long job interview!! We were very lucky to hit on the right one/right landlord/right area very early on in the looking game and I knew it was the right house when I saw it and went and met the landlord on Friday. We’ve owned for so long that we have no references so he wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to turn his property into a P-lab – no danger of that with us! We’ve always left every rental we’ve ever rented in better condition than when we found it, it’s always cleaner and the gardens tidier – in fact our biggest problem when renting is the landlords selling the houses out from under us! Every time they see we have nice furniture and look after the place they’ve decided it’s the ideal time to sell with the house looking at its best. This landlord has reassured me he’s no intention of selling the property so yay for finding somewhere we can really settle long term! It’s ridiculous to be this way about a rental but I’m as excited about moving into this house as I’d be if we’d bought it!
Speaking of kiddos here’s a piccie from yesterday, I just love the adoring look on Lucas’s face when he’s looking at Joshie…. some brotherly love already starting me thinks

Ok. Back to enjoying the long weekend with this amazing weather (hope it doesn’t turn to custard as predicted)… going to scrap, organise stuff and relax!!

Family Updates
Ok so time for an update. Lucas is a month old this week already, I can’t believe how fast it’s gone and am loving having 2 boys around the house. He’s an awesome little guy and (according to the midwife) is one of the happiest and most content babies she’s ever seen. She probably says that to all the mums but I’ll take what I can get…
She also told me that the smiles and responses we’ve had already (see the video in previous post) usually don’t come until around 6 weeks so for him to do it at 3 weeks of age is pretty impressive. Me thinks this isn’t his first time around the block IYKWIM.

As for Joshie he’s settling down a bit and getting used to sharing me (us) with Lucas. He’s very much attention seeking still though, a natural enough response I know but it gets annoying when I’m busy. He’ll do whatever he can to monopolise my attention, including this… his bum wiggle…

But he does kinda like his wee baby brother, although I suspect some of the affection and attention he gives Lucas is for the response he gets from me – cuddles, smiles and kisses. Still, whatever works and I know he does like him really as he goes to try and comfort him if I’m out of the room and he starts becoming unsettled or crying. Joshie’s a very sweet and loving boy and I’m so glad he’s responding in the way he is to Lucas. It’s not easy for him and although I’m doing my best to make sure he still gets plenty of time with me there’s still a big adjustment for him to make and he’s really trying to be the best big brother he can be.

Back to the scrapping, will have some new stuff to show you soonish!
